A first-person train game, in development
Nothing calls you.Everything answers you.
AFTERLINE is a first-person 3D pixel-art game about living aboard a train. Ride a long line through ash forests, gorges and viaducts, fit the cars you find along the way, light the lamps at dusk, and raise a rocket one stage at a time.

Aboard
The ride is the game.
Every verb aboard is something your hands do, and most of them leave a mark on the train, the chart or the crew.
- 01
A post-apocalyptic line
The old world is gone but the rails are not. Ash drifts over ghost stations, a few shelters still trade by lamplight, and at night the Faded climb the carriages, so you keep the lamps lit and hold the deck.
- 02
The line answers
Haul a phrase on the horn cord as a lit window slides by. Now and then, a few seconds later, the window blinks your rhythm back.
- 03
A moving star
At dusk and dawn a bright point crosses the sky faster than any star. Crank the wind-up radio, sweep the dial through the static, and listen.
- 04
Raise the stage
Rivet hull plates in rhythm, then haul the section up the gantry by hand. Every stage you raise, the train pulls away a little heavier.
- 05
Better with a friend
Co-op, with real jobs: one of you rings the platform bell while the other answers on the horn. Two catwalks, one night watch.
- 06
Slow, optional, yours
Nothing nags. A couple of unsolicited demands a day at most, and a crew that is mostly silent. You ride at your own pace.
